SCAA was able to replace a potential hour-long road journey to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a 15-minute flight for a patient involved in a medical emergency in Grampian recently. The speed of SCAA’s helicopter air ambulances can prove a life-saver when every second counts. Please help us to get there in time: www.scaa.social/mission #scotland #airambulance #Aberdeen

Once airborne, our new H145 D3 will be the most capable air ambulance of its kind in the UK, flying in the most challenging environment. Our larger aircraft will have a significant impact on saving and improving more lives throughout Scotland. To get our new air ambulance in the air, the charity must raise an additional £2 million this year. If you think you can help, visit: https://lnkd.in/e3fFMerD #Scotland #airambulance #aviation

SCAA was quickly on scene when a man was injured in a road traffic accident near Braemar recently. SCAA worked with Police Scotland at the scene of the accident before airlifting the patient to the Major Trauma Centre at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – just a 20-minute flight away but around 80 minutes by road. Our Perth-based Helimed 76 is no stranger to Glenshee Ski Centre during the winter months. After a recent call-out to the centre had to be aborted due to poor weather conditions, the mission was passed to Helimed 79 to reach the injured patient. Despite facing challenging weather, our Aberdeen aircraft successfully flew to the aid of a skier injured in an accident. The injured man was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for advanced care. 🚁Please help us to get there in time: www.scaa.social/mission #Scotland #Glenshee #skiing #airambulance

Did you know that our new, larger H145 air ambulance will have: - An increase of 60 minutes flight time in fuel capacity ⛽ - Weather radar and night vision 🌃 - Five rotors instead of four 🚁 - An extra seat to carry a loved one or extra clinician 💺 These features will help SCAA get to more people in time to save lives throughout Scotland. Can you help us raise the additional £2m needed to launch Operation Skyward? https://lnkd.in/e3fFMerD #Scotland #airambualnce #helicopter

Thank you to 14-year-old former patient Caitlyn for raising £600 during our 100 Miles in October challenge. Caitlyn recently visited our Aberdeen base to meet some of the crew who airlifted the teen after she fell from her horse. #ThankYou #Aberdeen #airambulance

SCAA’s Aberdeen-based paramedics braved Friday’s storm in their Rapid Response Vehicle to ensure help reached a child suffering medical problems. First on scene, SCAA’s team worked alongside colleagues from the Scottish Ambulance Service before the little girl was taken by road ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – comforted by a SCAA teddy.
