As we prepare to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, voting rights are under attack with an ever-growing intensity and ferocity. Our decades-long struggle for full and equal access to the ballot continues, and we must rise up against the barriers placed in our way, and speak out and show up. The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act is crucial in safeguarding our democracy and ensuring that every voice is heard. SCSJ and Forward Justice attorneys filed an amicus brief this week in the N.C. Court of Appeals on behalf of a broad coalition of nonpartisan civic engagement groups and more than 30 North Carolina voters. Jefferson Griffin got fewer votes in the N.C.
