Our thriving city is a reality for some, but not all. We believe that community is more than a place. It’s the shared understanding that our joy and well-being are tied to one another. We continue to be steadfast in our commitment to center the voices of the marginalized, invest in long-term strategies that lead to systemic change, and fund nonprofits working closely with those most impacted by the dynamic issues in our region. The work doesn’t stop, and neither will we.  

Thank you, Washington voters! Together, we defeated Initiative 2117 and preserved the Climate Commitment Act. As one of 500 organizations who stood strong to endorse No on this initiative, we are proud of this victory, and we know that the fight for climate justice doesn’t end with this election. Seattle Foundation will continue to invest in policy and systems change work informed and led by the community, with an unwavering commitment to creating a joyful, thriving region.
