CURRENTS The National Museum of the Philippines receives new gifts to the nation! Three Palaw’an baskets were gifted by ethnographer Maria Elena Lopez to the museum, which included betelnut pouches and a rice container woven by Palaw’an women. Ms. Lopez originally received the baskets during her ethnographic fieldwork in Palawan, and wishes for more Filipinos to appreciate the craftsmanship of Palawan weavers.
