On Thursday, November 14th, Self-Help Enterprises celebrated a pivotal event in the Kaweah Subbasin in the San Joaquin Valley, marking the beginning of a significant transition from state to local groundwater management and response. This ceremony highlighted the vital partnerships that are helping to implement sustainable water practices in California, with a special focus on SHE’s first GSA-funded well replacement project. The unveiling of a newly constructed domestic well funded by the Greater Kaweah GSA symbolized the first step in local efforts to mitigate the impacts of groundwater overdraft on domestic well users, and marks a turning point in the way groundwater sustainability and mitigation will be handled across the region. Self-Help Enterprises continues its efforts to mitigate groundwater overdraft and enhance sustainability by working with local stakeholders, funding partners, and residents to ensure equitable access to clean water. This work would not be possible without our partners at INTERA Incorporated, Greater Kaweah GSA, and the State Water Resources Control Board . Thank you for all that you do!
