Last weekend I had the opportunity to speak to a group on MBA students Harvard Business School who chose to spend their Sunday listening to us talk about "The 100 Year Life". 📈 💡 One of my favorite takeaways was hearing the term #FOGO or Fear of Growing Older! cc Seniorly A big thank you to the amazing Susan Golden who is leading the 3.0 charge in the Longevity Economy, and to Rem Koning for inviting me. 🙏 It was long overdue and great to meet you both Tim Driver and Max Zamkow! 👋

Gift card scamming is a threat to consumers of all ages, but is particularly damaging to older adults. "People ages 18 to 49 are more likely than older adults to lose money in gift card fraud, but adults over the age of 80 lose three times as much as younger adults." 💳 💸 Banking regulators need to step up their game to close the loopholes currently being exploited by fraudsters. 🔎 Read more about gift card scams and how one 83-year old fell into the "fear bubble" here: https://lnkd.in/dPQ3PeBD

It's interesting to read about the shift in Alzheimer's research that's making way for these breakthroughs. We'd love to hear your thoughts! 👀 💉 New blood tests are set to transform how doctors diagnose and treat Alzheimer's disease. These tests offer a quick and simple way to detect if a patient with cognitive decline has the brain changes linked to Alzheimer's. 🧠 Now for the down side: The blood tests have been made available so quickly, most doctors haven't received guidance on who to test, or how to interpret results. 😷 📈 Read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/g6ejNxfT

Cognitive decline among older adults remains a touchy subject in #WealthManagement circles. 🧠 Clients don’t want to talk about it, families often avoid it, and #FinancialAdvisors are left in the dark until the problem becomes apparent. 🙈 Edward Jones financial advisor Julie Kelly has witnessed this problem firsthand. With over half her clients being 65 or older—including many retired physicians, researchers, and professors—Kelly's team manages $450 million in assets. To address this issue proactively, Kelly started inviting clients to an “Aging with Dignity” meeting when they turn 70, or sooner if recommended by a medical professional. Have any fellow professionals implemented similar client meetings? Share your experiences and insights! You can read more about the approach and its impact here: https://lnkd.in/eRBaEt-p #WealthManagement #AgingWithDignity #FinancialPlanning #CognitiveHealth #ClientCare
