In light of Milton's recent impacts to Florida, we want to remind agriculture business owners of our post-hurricane guidance and FAQ from Helene. Our goal is for this to be a resource for you as you contend with the aftermath of Milton. We hope for low disruptions to all business owners and workers following this storm!
We have heard from many farms about Hurricane Helene's damage across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and beyond. In light of these impacts, we’ve published a new blog post offering essential clarifications for agricultural employers on the Department of Labor's guidance to handling this natural disaster. Written by Seso's senior H-2A counsel, Daniel Ross and Barron Dickinson, the post covers: - critical compliance requirements - how to handle the ¾ guarantee - how to request a contract end through a COI - restrictions on storm cleanup for farms and FLCs - an FAQ of common questions that may arise We also provide key resources for disaster relief and recovery, ensuring you have the support needed during this challenging time. If you are not in an affected area, this blog post is a helpful way to stay informed on the DOL's approach to natural disasters should one ever impact you. Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy as we continue to provide support to the agriculture community. Read the full post here: https://lnkd.in/emAjYE55

ℹ Update to the DOL's Final Rule on Improving Worker Protections: A Georgia District Court has denied the DOL's request to issue a more narrow interpretation of the Worker Protection rule. We are expecting similar legal challenges to be filed in one or more of the remaining 33 states that were not parties to the Georgia litigation. Read the full update and stay in the loop on the latest decisions here on the Seso blog as they are released:
