Last week, we opened our doors (and our drive-thru lanes) to 'Surf City USA'. 🏄♂️ Opening day celebrations included a rousing 'Shack Clap' and team speech, local Mayor + Chamber appearances, school band tunes, and vintage cars in the drive thru. Checkin' in on our test partnership with Mill!👇 Since implementing Mill in two Shack kitchens, our bins have helped us divert over 1,000 pounds of food scraps from landfills and prevent 735 kg of CO2e emissions—equivalent to driving 1,880 miles in a gas-powered car (about the distance from our West Village Shack to Miami)! These numbers include the addition of a Mill Bin to our Innovation Kitchen, giving our culinary team the opportunity to reduce waste while developing future menu items.   We're proud to have kept over 1,000 pounds of food scraps out of landfills and contribute to sustainable U.S. farm practices by turning our food scraps into animal feed—and excited to continue doing our part to address food waste by testing partnerships with organizations like Mill.
