Bringing Cancer Care to the Community: A Social Initiative by Shankara Cancer and Research Institute, Tezpur 🌟 Not every reward is financial; some touch the heart in ways money can't. That's why we’ve started "Oncology on Wheels", a not-for-profit initiative aimed at reaching cancer patients who can’t make it to hospitals due to financial or physical challenges. We bring cancer care directly to their homes, offering not only practical help but emotional support too. Our goal? To break the myths surrounding cancer and to spread awareness that those battling it deserve empathy, not isolation. Together, we’re building a community that approaches cancer patients with care, understanding, and dignity. In the last month alone, we’ve visited several homes, providing advice on improving comfort, hygiene, and nutrition for patients. But what we value most is the kind words and smiles from the families we meet—those are our true rewards. ❤️ Our team, almost all of whom have been caregivers for cancer patients, knows firsthand what it takes to provide the kind of care that truly makes a difference. We charge nothing for these visits—just smiles, chai, and the occasional pita as our “fees.” 😊 This is more than just medical care. It’s about making a difference, one family at a time. SCRI celebrates Birthday of Mr Hitesh Kalita. He is an example of perseverance and Service. He Lost his wife to one of the most aggressive cancer at a very young age and has small cute daughter of 4 years. He said his birthday is being celebrated for the first time in his 40 years. We congratulate him to join our path in serving people as General Duty Assistant. He gives a lot of Psychological support to people diagnosed with cancer. We all are equal in terms of responsibility and respect in Shankara. Our Job designations doesn't matter, Intentions does!
