It is our hope that Ben’s Guide to help kids learn more about the Federal Government. It Includes fun facts and games and is geared towards children ages 4-16 years of age. The Redding Library has more than books to look at when you are walking around. We also have many art exhibits and displays. There are Model Ships donated by Captain Peter Wright, a Giving Tree that was designed by artist Jan Scanlin with help from artists Rayette Meredeth and Jim Rohnbach. There is 3D art made from actual book pages that are hung in the Fireside room on the second floor and a sculpture that was donated by Past United States Senator Maurice Johannessen. Shasta Public Libraries is dedicated to providing the best free resources and programs for our teens. We offer great resources to #teens for homework help and tutoring, as well as other databases and e-resources for education support. https://lnkd.in/dnMej565 The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a teenager-based group at Shasta Public Libraries for ages 12-17. TAB members help plan and set up events, make and donate items to benefit the community, work on skills and creativity, and participate in projects, all while gaining volunteer hours.

More than 1,200 middle schoolers learned about staying safer online from experts at the David Marr Auditorium today. The event was hosted by the Shasta County Office of Education and Enterprise Elementary School District. Our sincere thanks to #cybersecurity expert Bill Kizer, Enterprise Elementary School District Director of Technology Services Kristin Bowling, Redding Police Department Officers Hooks and Litsey, and Shasta County District Attorney's Office Chief Deputy District Attorney Sarah Murphy for sharing their wisdom, and Student Board Members Kaitlyn Wendland of Shasta High School and Hijran Rahimee of Enterprise High School for emceeing.
