  • Congratulations to former Shepherd Center patient Sachin Chamaria, who made history as the first Indian athlete to win gold in the individual Boccia BC-3 Men's category at the World Boccia Challenger 2024 in Bahrain! Not stopping there, Sachin also became the first Indian athlete to secure medals at two international Boccia events in the same year. Boccia, an adaptive Paralympic sport of skill and strategy, has become Sachin's passion and purpose. This incredible achievement reflects his unwavering determination and drive. After sustaining a spinal cord injury in 2008, Sachin found renewed strength during his rehabilitation at Shepherd Center, where he rediscovered his love for sports through recreational therapy. Those lessons shaped the athlete and advocate he is today, breaking barriers on the global stage. Join us in celebrating Sachin's historic win and wishing him the best as he continues representing his country and inspiring the world! #GoldForIndia #WorldBocciaChallenger2024 #AdaptiveSports #ShepherdStrong #BocciaChampion #DisabilityInclusion #Inspiration #AdaptiveAthletes

The incredible team from Aetos Imaging joined forces with Shepherd Center's Recreation Therapy team for our annual holiday clinic! Aetos sponsored lunch for our hardworking staff and volunteered alongside our patients and their families. Here's what one Aetos team member had to say: "The Aetos team was excited to volunteer at the Shepherd Center holiday clinic, as their mission to help patients rebuild their lives perfectly aligns with our values. This collaboration allows us to explore meaningful applications of our technology in healthcare and allows us to see its impact as patients regain confidence and rejoin their communities. We love working with Kelly and the incredible rec therapy team!" During the clinic, patients had the chance to connect, practice various skills, and get into the festive spirit by decorating wreaths and trees to brighten their rooms and doors. A huge thank you to Aetos and all the volunteers who made this magical day possible! #ShepherdCenter #RecreationTherapy #HolidayCheer #VolunteersMakeADifference #Aetos
