Our incoming Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management (SHFM) Foundation Chair, Amy Franks, had the privilege of participating in the We Care Packing program, where she assembled care packages for our troops serving overseas. The We Care program allows SHFM members to support a member of the military by purchasing goods, packing and sending a very much appreciated Care Package to an Active-Duty Service Member. Every year, members, and friends of SHFM come together to send hundreds of care packages to our troops around the world. This small token of our gratitude goes a long way, especially during the holiday season. Happy Veterans Day from the Society For Hospitality and Foodservice Management (SHFM)! We were deeply honored to host the Foundation's Gala on such a meaningful day, surrounded by amazing people. Chef Opal, a United States Air Force veteran, prepared an unforgettable meal and shared her inspiring story. It was a privilege to be in her presence on such a memorable occasion. The evening was filled with camaraderie as our SHFM family and friends came together to raise funds through generous donations, a silent auction, and an exciting live auction.
