In this blog Divine Odazie outlines #Kubernetes on-premises: the why, what and how to implement. You have to consider a few things such at the location for the hardware, how you will manage it, and think about the network complexity. One of the easy items is going with an operating system purposely built for Kubernetes #TalosLinux. Divine shares detailed steps on setting up Talos Linux on virtualized platforms with Vagrant & Libvirt. Check it out! When you are ready to get started yourself, visit siderolabs.com and check out #OpenSource Talos or Saas managed Omni.

I feel like the thing that isn't getting the attention that it deserves from a tech standpoint when it comes to Bluesky Social is that they run **ON-PREM**. I want everyone to think about the growth that they have been experiencing over the past few months has all been on servers they control, not a cloud hyperscaler. They are absolutely destroying the narrative that elasticity or unpredictable growth can only be managed in a public cloud provider. This should be a case study for every SaaS, social media, or other startup with the potential for hockey stick user growth without having to hockey stick headcount or their AWS bill.
Check out the video with @bart-farrell and @xd-iaso discussing their path to choosing the right #operatingsystem for their home lab. At 14:11, Xe talks about #TalosLinux - it's "crazy minimal" and "prod worthy". 😍 😍 😍 #cloudnative #opensource @kubefm

Cloud providers have worked hard to convince customers that the only alternative to the cloud is to build a data center and hire security guards. But data centers aren’t the only option. Read Sidero Labs, Inc. Head of Product 🤘 Justin Garrison’s full article now. #IaC #CloudServices

Welcome Kim! 🤗
Last week I wrote a blog about moving on, navigating change, and embracing growth. This week, I’m excited to share that I’ve joined Sidero Labs as their Head of Marketing. Working in technology for as long as I have and with a history of joining organizations when they are early in their marketing journey, Sidero was an obvious choice. First, the technology. I haven’t seen a truly differentiated approach that changes how organizations do things. The Sidero team created Talos Linux, an open source operating system designed specifically to run Kubernetes—that’s all it does. Designed from the ground up, it has only what’s needed. This is a game changer for organizations who want to run in a simpler, more secure way, and with - well, just less. Second, the marketing. I love and excel at coming into an organization to build out the marketing that will take them from where they are to where they want to be. This is energizing, exciting, and a bonus when your co-workers are excited to take this journey with you. I met my team this week in Salt Lake City and they are an incredible group - smart, focused, visionary, funny, and collaborative. Third, the team. I already mentioned them, but they are worth mentioning again. We share a common vision and are focused on the same things. We work hard, connect through team activities, and we laugh. There is genuine caring for each other and that is a recipe for a high-performing team. I will keep the lessons of marketing meeting the moment, adapting to the team’s working styles, and I have my rituals in place to keep me grounded and healthy during this transition. The next couple of years are going to be a roller coaster of a ride (literally if I let one of my new co-workers choose the team activities :)) and I can’t be more energized and excited for this journey! I’m at KubeCon this week. I’ll be hanging around the Expo hall - if you are around, let’s catch up!
