Tiles of trash, compact and neat, a marvel of tech, a wondrous feat. But look closely, and you might see, a festive surprise, a mystery... One tile stands out, a joyful sight, in the cold of space, it brings delight. For revealed within its texture tight, is Santa Claus, in red and white. His jolly face, a merry cheer, brings holiday spirit, far and near. In the silence of the cosmic night, Santa's tile shines so bright. So as we journey to the stars, with sustainable tech and dreams afar, Remember the tile, with Santa's face, a symbol of joy in outer space. Happy Holidays from Sierra Space. Giving humanity a platform in Space to benefit life on Earth.
About us
Sierra Space is building a shared ecosystem in space for scientific collaboration and innovation to benefit life on Earth. With technologies that make space more affordable and accessible, we’re dedicated to creating a prosperous and secure space economy that will benefit all of humanity. Rapidly advancing toward the launch of the next generation of space transportation, the world’s first commercial spaceplane, Dream Chaser®, will perform cargo supply and return missions for NASA - delivering up to 12,000 pounds of cargo to the International Space Station (ISS) at a time. Sierra Space is also the developer of the Large Integrated Flexible Environment (LIFE™), a modular, three-story inflatable habitat that we are developing as we build the first commercial space station. The unique structure will provide opportunities for multiple businesses including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors, to optimize zero gravity benefits.

This year, the ASGSR American Society for Gravitational and Space Research (ASGSR) awarded Dr. Robert Morrow its Fellow distinction. This honor is in recognition of distinguished scientific and social contributions to the advancement of gravitational and space research in the fields of life and physical sciences in areas of research, education, mentoring, outreach, and professional and public service. Only a select few are chosen each year and Dr. Robert Morrow’s contribution to environmental systems, among other sectors, earned him this privilege. We’re proud to have him on our team.

Thanks to Rep. Dale Strong’s support for U.S. commercial space, we welcome the SPACEPORT Act, which will provide federal funding for spaceport infrastructure projects, including Huntsville International Spaceport. This legislation will enhance spaceport capabilities, directly benefiting the landing and operation of our Dream Chaser spaceplane. By strengthening spaceport infrastructure, we are paving the way for the future of commercial space transportation and its potential to revolutionize humanity's access to space. LaShawn Buckley, VP Destinations and In-Space Infrastructure, and Dr. Tom Marshburn, Chief Astronaut & VP Human Factors Engineering, attended the U.S. Department of Commerce Certified Space Business Mission to the UAE, coinciding with the Abu Dhabi Space Debate. The event, which brought together 150 leaders from government, aerospace, industry, and academia, including U.S. Ambassador Martina Strong and UAE Space Agency Director General H.E. Salem Al Qubaisi, provided a platform to engage with top Emirati and U.S. officials and explore project and investment opportunities in the UAE's space sector. We look forward to leveraging these connections to drive innovation in the commercial space industry.

Sierra Space contributed key components to the Europa Clipper spacecraft, which is headed to Jupiter's moon Europa. Delivered items include two Solar Array Drive Actuators (SADAs), Thermal Louvers, and a cover system for the MASPEX instrument. The SADAs, made in Durham, North Carolina, rotate the large solar arrays (46.5 feet by 13.5 feet) to face the sun and transmit power and signals. The MASPEX cover system and Thermal Louvers, both made in Louisville, Colorado, manage gas collection and regulate the spacecraft’s temperature.
