Check out our thoughts on the new RTX 5090!
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition: Performance Highlights 🚀 Is AI the future of rendering? Lots of reviews out there today, but here is the Signal65 take: https://lnkd.in/gF-egvjS NVIDIA's latest flagship GPU, the GeForce RTX 5090, introduces significant advancements in AI-driven rendering and performance enhancements. Key Features: - Blackwell Architecture: Built on the GB202 die with 21,760 CUDA cores and 32GB of GDDR7 memory, delivering up to 3,352 AI TOPS—over double that of its predecessor, the RTX 4090. - DLSS 4.0: Upgraded to a transformer-based model, offering improved image quality and stability. The new frame generation capability allows scaling up to 3 or 4 frames per input frame, significantly boosting frame rates. - RTX Neural Shaders: An SDK enabling developers to use deep learning for texture and material processing, enhancing performance and reducing memory usage without compromising (and sometime might improve) visual quality. Performance Gains: - In titles like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Cyberpunk 2077, the RTX 5090 shows a 28% performance increase at 1440p and 36% at 4K over the RTX 4090. - With DLSS 4.0 enabled, frame rates can more than triple. For instance, Indiana Jones jumps from 38 FPS to over 120 FPS, and Hogwarts Legacy from 87 FPS to 230 FPS. Design and Availability: - Despite its power usage, the RTX 5090 Founders Edition maintains a dual-slot form factor with an innovative dual-fan, flow-through cooling design, effectively managing its 575W power draw. - Available from January 30th at $1,999 USD, with partner variants from ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte starting at the same price point. (But likely, prices will be higher...) The RTX 5090 sets a new benchmark in gaming and AI performance, solidifying NVIDIA's leadership in the GPU market. Next big industry question: will neural shaders and AI-rendering have the significant, and speedy, uptake that NVIDIA is predicting? We'll have more thoughts on that soon!

You might not think it has much impact, but picking the right storage hardware for your AI infrastructure can drastically change the capacity you can build with a fixed power budget. Solidigm QLC SSDs enable up to 26% more capacity for AI infrastructure over traditional HDD and hybrid HDD deployments. Read the report from Signal65: https://lnkd.in/gxcr6MYP

There's a lot of talk about power efficiency and what will it take to enable more efficient data centers. Solidigm and Signal65 teamed up to evaluate the impact different storage devices can have. If you're interested in what high-density storage can do, you might want to check out this article. Thank you Dave Sierra, Manzur Rahman, PhD, MBA, Roger Corell, Mitchell Lewis and Camberley Bates for a tremendous effort in tackling the details in this piece.
