If you're not changing things, you're perhaps being too conservative and not aggressive enough,” Mehrotra explains. “So, I think you should always be eyes wide open around the situation based on your previous experiences and somebody else will come at it through theirs as long as we can agree to a few sources of truth that we're going to look at and agree to debate it. CEO’s heavy investments in cloud amidst short-term skepticism from investors 📈 In this #BreakingAnalysis, David Vellante shares some recent statistics showing how AI investments are doubling up despite skepticism shown by the investor camp. “Despite short-term skepticism in cloud investments from investors, they're making big bets on AI to drive innovation and unlock new revenue streams that will be massive. Investors are wary of the soaring CapEx, but the potential AI payoffs and efficiencies are far too compelling for these CEOs to ignore. As the cloud matures, next generation AI capabilities will define competitive advantage, and these leaders have to aggressively move to stay ahead of the curve,” Vellante explains. “You're seeing some financial headwinds like FX. They could temper cloud enthusiasm, but they also sharpen the industry's focus. In the latest #theCUBEPod, John Furrier and David Vellante discuss the implications of the recent DeepSeek wave over Databricks, particularly related to its mixture of experts (MOE). “With their DBRX, LLM, and the mixture of experts (MOE), I think Databricks has the first mover advantage on having that. It is actually building real tech. DeepSeek became such a popular thing because a mixture of experts is blended into it as a key variable. That's just another straw on the camel's back to make it more real for the mainstream,” Furrier explains. “I think Databricks has got to love this. Anyone who's in AI infrastructure loves what's happening because the software layers and innovations are growing so fast. That's only going to propel more use of databases, data lakes, and software that comes out.
