We've been k12 administrators, educators, and users of the K12 systems. 💻 As users, we spent decades in the substitute staffing industry, using all the absence management and substitute scheduling tools on the market. 🛠️ We saw the educator experience, how substitutes interacted with the tool, and how clunky it was to fill sub openings fast, which was the whole point after all. It was that experience that drove our mission to solve the problem. 💪 https://lnkd.in/e3ecWFmc

An apprenticeship program for para pros is showing early signs of promise. 👍 200 districts are participating. When we were developing Slate and working with administrators and teachers, one theme came up again and again; all involved in K12 education shared the chaos they faced in the mornings when there was an uncovered classroom. 😬 And how that chaos negatively impacted the rest of the day. Hence our tag line of "Get your mornings back". ☀️ In the spirt of impacting positive mornings, here are a few suggestions 👇 https://lnkd.in/e6KfgbP3 Another option? Slate's platform brings solutions to K-12 districts: absence management and substitute scheduling. 💪 Although the substitute shortage is well understood, many of the districts we serve are attracted to the absence management component. 📅 A quick recap of the benefits: 1️⃣ Teacher and District Support: By tracking teacher absences, administrators can identify patterns and address potential issues impacting classroom continuity, allowing for timely interventions to support teachers and maintain a consistent learning experience for students. 2️⃣ Efficient Substitute Management: An effective absence management system enables schools to quickly find and assign suitable substitute teachers when a teacher is absent, minimizing disruptions to the learning process. 3️⃣ Data-Driven Insights: Absence management systems provide valuable data on absence trends, allowing administrators to identify potential root causes of absenteeism and implement targeted solutions to address them. 4️⃣ Improved School Climate: By proactively managing absences, schools can foster a culture of accountability and responsibility, promoting positive student and teacher attendance habits.

Many K-12 schools have deployed a significant amount of technology in recent years, but a common challenge is measuring its return on investment (ROI). 💰 According to a 2023 survey, 85% of U.S. educators believe it’s difficult to assess the impact of educational technology on learning outcomes. Additionally, 67% of software licenses are reportedly going unused in some districts, suggesting inefficiencies in technology use. In contrast, the impact of Slate’s absence management and substitute staffing solution is clear. 🌟 A classroom with or without a teacher. 🍎 By increasing substitute fill rates from 81% to 93%, Slate ensures that classrooms remain productive, reducing the negative effects of teacher absences. 💪 Contact us for a quote or a demo. https://lnkd.in/eGV4ciPk

K12 School District of the Year has been named! Congrats to Texas’ Ector County Independent School District 🎉 The superintendent credits these initiatives for their improvement from underperforming on most metrics to their first ever B rating from TEA: 1️⃣ A focus on foundational pieces of student success, such as ensuring school buses ran on time, students were fed, and there were enough teachers in every classroom. 2️⃣ Human capital investments in teacher pipeline and compensation. 3️⃣ Prioritizing academics, particularly through the district’s personalized, blended learning model that taps into high-dosage online tutoring.
