In the midst of my practicum requirement, I came across this article that beautifully underscores the power and significance of doula work. Doulas provide more than just support; they empower families, advocate for dignity, and bridge critical gaps in healthcare by offering culturally relevant care. Yet, as our work gains recognition, there's a shift toward data collection and evaluation by funding agencies. My practicum explores how doulas feel about these research and evaluation practices, especially the increasing demands for data.
