New moms and moms-to-be were celebrated recently with a warm and welcoming Baby Shower held at the Episcopal Health Services (EHS) Clinical Learning Center. Organized by EHS’ OBGYN and Doula departments, the event was spearheaded by Dr. Jacqueline Marechaeau, MD, FACOG, Chairperson of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Episcopal Health Services, and Te-Ana Souffrant, Lead Doula & Perinatal Coordination Manager at EHS/SJEH. Guests gathered on December 8 to enjoy refreshments and music, and learn about creating baby-friendly environments for their little ones. Attendees received gifts for their newborns, including a very generous donation of 4,400 diapers and wipes from the Allied Foundation, in partnership with Huggies® Healthcare™ and Baby2Baby. The St. John’s ICARE Foundation and EHS are very grateful for these donations and for the commitment of the Allied Foundation and its partners to helping babies get a head start on a healthy life! We love sharing exciting news! The St. John’s ICARE Foundation has received a $50,000 grant from the Amazin' Mets Foundation, enabling us to purchase equipment for the OBGYN department at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital and Episcopal Health Services’ Clinical Learning Center. In 2023, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation supported ICARE’s Teen Self-Care Bag initiative, allowing us to assemble and distribute 1,000 bags filled with assorted hygiene products at various community centers and events throughout Far Rockaway. We are incredibly grateful to the Amazin’ Mets Foundation for its continued support of the health and well-being of Far Rockaway, the Five Towns, and surrounding communities.
