About us

Skagit Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. EIN 91-1628529. Donations are tax-deductible. In 1994 local citizens formed Skagit Habitat for Humanity as the result of a critical need for affordable housing in Skagit County. In 2015 Skagit Habitat celebrated as the first Habitat family made the last payment on their mortgage, thereby owning their Habitat home in full. As of March 2021, 39 Habitat homes have been built in Skagit County and the ground has been broken on our 40th home. Skagit Habitat has served over 80 families and 272 residents. We believe in empowering people to empower themselves through our mission: Putting God’s love into action, Skagit Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, community, and hope. With our help, Habitat Homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
