We are first and foremost in the business of providing healthy, sustainable seafood to our customers and their guests. But the experience is much greater and deeper than simply putting fish in the center of the plate. We are building relationships with our customers, vendors, and colleagues in order to accomplish our goals. So whether that is being present at a food show, hauling lobster traps to understand how Maine fishermen have been protecting the lobster resource for 100+ years, or learning how mussel and kelp aquaculture positively benefits the marine environment, or networking with our peers, we're out there doing it. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to host the National Fisheries Institute Future Leaders Program in Portland, Maine last week. The program assembles the next generation of leaders in our industry from a broad spectrum of companies and operations for experience-based learning and collaboration. Our own David Bluhm and Patricia Lash are participants this year! Excellent fishing trip with Lucky Catch Cruises and visits to Ready Seafood Company and Bangs Island Mussels.
