New York Times Features Interview with Adam P. Slater: A recent interview with Adam Slater, conducted by a reporter from The New York Times, addressed the ongoing lawsuit against New York State on behalf of our client, a former inmate who was sexually assaulted by Bennie Thorpe during his tenure as captain at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. Notably, despite facing two lawsuits, Thorpe has been promoted to superintendent of Marcy Correctional Facility by Governor Hochul. This promotion comes in the wake of a tragic incident last year, where an inmate was fatally beaten under the leadership of his predecessor. Slater expressed deep concerns regarding the lack of accountability within the system, asking, “Where are the reforms? Where are the hearings? Where are the investigations?” His comments highlight significant issues related to oversight and inmate safety in state institutions. Meet Vache Muradian, an Associate Attorney based in our Los Angeles office. Since joining the firm in 2022, he has focused on advocating for survivors of trauma, particularly in child and adult sexual abuse litigation, and has led the firm’s docket against the Archdiocese of Los Angeles over the past few years. Vache earned his J.D. from Southwestern Law School and has been a member of the bar since 2021. When asked about what inspired him to pursue a legal career, Vache shared, “After working in child protective services, I felt a calling to do more to protect the vulnerable and deliver justice by correcting past wrongs.” Vache has compassion for his clients and is easy to talk to—traits that help him earn their trust and guide them through difficult legal matters. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing. We are proud to have Vache on our team, as his dedication and expertise not only make a meaningful impact on our clients' lives but also strengthen our firm's reputation and success.

The Court granted the Petition for Coordination and Stay, consolidating the cases under JCCP5357. This decision promotes consistency and efficiency. This landmark decision represents a significant victory for survivors, providing them with the opportunity to seek justice, no matter how much time has passed.
