Aaditya Kaushik, an associate from our NYC team, moderated a City Bar Association panel on NYPD investigations of political activity. The event featured presentations from attorneys representing the plaintiffs, the City of New York, and the NYPD, and was attended by lawyers, law students, and members of the general public. Barbara Handschu, the named plaintiff in the class action lawsuit that inspired the event, was also in attendance. Aaditya's presentation examined the state of free expression, protected political activity, and law enforcement authority 40 years after the Handschu Consent Decree.

Slater Slater Schulman was proud to support and attend the 2024 Annual Child USA Gala. CHILD USA is a nonprofit devoted to ending child abuse and neglect, and it leads the way for statute of limitations (SOL) reform in the United States and around the globe. We proudly highlight one of our NYC team members, Isabella Frango. Isabella is a paralegal who supports our clients and legal team in handling adult sex abuse cases. She takes great pride in her work and shows empathy and compassion for our clients as she helps them navigate sensitive legal challenges. Graduating cum laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2020, Isabella earned her bachelor’s degree in criminology and psychology, with a minor in pre-law. Her passion for law ignited in high school during a civics course called Youth and the Law, where an inspiring teacher opened her eyes to the power of advocacy and the workings of the U.S. legal system. Since then, she has committed herself to advancing her knowledge and experience, with the intention of attending law school and becoming an attorney in the near future. We thank Isabella for her dedication and hard work and believe her future in law is bright.
