Smart Agripreneurs' Academy

On the 14th of November 2024, the Smart Agripreneurs' Academy visited Jappineh Upper and Senior Secondary School to lead a site demarcation exercise for vegetable production. The program was successfully held by the volunteers of Smart Agripreneurs' Academy. This demarcation exercise aimed to provide students with an invaluable hands-on learning experience as they actively participated in the demarcation process. Under the guidance of our volunteers, students gained practical knowledge and skills essential for effective vegetable bed demarcation.

We are thrilled to announce that our CEO, Mustapha Kanagie, has completed a week-long training program on Aquaponic production and Fabrication, organized by the Aquafish Center of Excellence in collaboration with Lilongwe Technical College. We were thrilled to witness the progress and impact of the Smart Agripreneurs Academy at Jappineh Upper and Senior Secondary School, our first piloted school-based agripreneurial initiative. This initiative has led to a 50% increase in school garden productivity and profitability. Furthermore, it has provided valuable learning experiences and opportunities for students to view agriculture as a financially rewarding sector.

The pilot program of the school-based agripreneurial initiative at Japppineh Upper and Senior Secondary has yielded promising outcomes, particularly in the cultivation of vegetable crops.

During the academic year of 2023/2024, Smart Agripreneurs Academy embarked on site demarcation for vegetable production at Jappineh Upper and Senior Secondary School. The purpose of this initiative was to provide students with practical experience in agriculture, ultimately fostering the development of the necessary skills and mindsets for them to embrace agriculture as a career path.

In the academic year 2022/2023, we organized an engaging agripreneurship awareness campaign at Wellingara-Ba Basic Cycle School and Bureng Upper and Senior Secondary. The campaign aimed to enlighten students about the diverse opportunities and prospects within the agriculture sector.

We have made great progress with the harvesting of our crops. The following crops have been successfully harvested: eggplant, bitter tomato, and cassava.
