This milestone was achieved as part of the 7th edition of Pashu Vikas Day (PVD), our flagship CSR initiative dedicated to improving cattle welfare and supporting rural livelihoods.
With a large part of India’s rural population engaged in agriculture and allied activities, cattle play a vital role in livelihood generation. Recognizing this, SMFG India Credit not only provides access to formal credit for cattle owners but also organizes health screening camps in remote areas, offering medical assistance and advisory services.
Under the theme “Mera Pashu Mera Parivar,” PVD continues to strengthen the bond between cattle owners and their livestock, ensuring that animal welfare and financial inclusion remain at the heart of our mission.
This year, PVD expanded to over 500 locations across 15 states, benefiting more than 1.9 lakh beneficiaries (1.5 lakh cattle & 40,000 people)—a significant rise from last year’s outreach of 1.5 lakh beneficiaries. The event also witnessed active participation from 6,000+ employees, reinforcing our unwavering commitment to rural development.
