It’s been a busy week for our portfolio companies!    We’re excited to share that Jake Loosararian, CEO of Gecko Robotics was featured on CNN highlighting the importance of the data behind artificial intelligence. As Gecko Robotics works to assess the US’ critical infrastructure, they rely on the data their robots collect and their software Cantilever to not only better inform and understand potential future failures, but also how to reduce risk and environmental impacts. Today, they’re partnered with organizations across both the US Commercial and Defense space to assist in maintaining our critical infrastructure.

Yesterday, China announced sanctions as a countermeasure against the United States’ support of Taiwan. Thirteen companies were included on that list, including our portfolio company Shield AI.   While these sanctions are largely symbolic, the act itself suggests that innovation is deterrence and China is worried. The best way to avoid a war is through strength and we must be ready.   At Snowpoint Ventures, we believe in investing in companies who are willing to challenge the status quo in their desire to innovate and risk everything to deliver critical technologies to support our belief in fundamental freedoms. https://lnkd.in/eJMBrrev

We’re pleased to announce that our portfolio company Shield AI has signed a strategic partnership with Palantir Technologies to collaboratively work on developing autonomous flight with AI-powered intelligence and operational control.   This partnership is the next step towards delivering modern warfare capabilities to meet the ever-changing battle landscape.   Our Co-Founder and General Partner Doug Philippone was instrumental in establishing this partnership – driven by his belief in both companies and Snowpoint Ventures’ thesis that we must invest in next-generation US companies to capture the demand for innovation to meet the ever-changing shift in the global security posture. https://lnkd.in/e6h-MDc9    

We’re pleased to share that Merlin has had their airworthiness plan for the Merlin Pilot KC-135 test accepted by the United States Air Force.   This is a crucial step to advancing military aviation and bringing about a new era of pilot efficiency and national security.

Yesterday, our portfolio company Candid Health announced the close of their $29M Series B. Excited to see that Merlin has begun its flight test toward certification. This campaign is a first for the industry and evidence of Merlin's ability to create certified advanced automation for an aircraft platform which, once proven, is extensible across additional aircraft types and classes. The testing and validation process during the campaign will ensure that all aircraft equipment functions seamlessly and as intended with the system integrated, laying a crucial foundation for further testing and refinement of the Merlin Pilot.   https://lnkd.in/gW3P-Psf

Today, we honor and remember those who lost their lives twenty-three years ago on 9/11. We remember the first responders and individuals for their courageous bravery in responding to the attacks. As a company founded by two veterans, we especially acknowledge the sacrifice and dedication of our troops who were called to duty after 9/11. Our troops and our veterans have and continue to selflessly sacrifice to protect our freedoms. We humbly thank them for their service.
