Dear friends, today we want to introduce you to the concept of SROI (Social Return on Investment). What is SROI? SROI is an approach that evaluates the overall value of projects beyond just the economic dimension. It helps us understand how our decisions can reduce social inequality, lessen environmental impact, and improve people's well-being through the analysis of social, environmental, and economic costs and benefits. Why is this important? SROI helps measure the value of changes and make informed decisions by considering qualitative, quantitative, and financial indicators. Background: The concept of SROI emerged in the late 1990s in the UK. It was developed to help organizations assess the social and environmental impact of their projects and better communicate this value to stakeholders. What does the concept of "Social Value" mean? Dear friends, today we want to introduce you to the concept of "Social Value". Social Value is about the significance that people attach to changes in their well-being. It encompasses broader aspects of value beyond just economic well-being, including emotional well-being, health, living conditions, relationships, profession, education, environment, economy, society, and more. The practice of measuring social value determines how we (as individuals, organizations, businesses, or communities) contribute to achieving social goals and benefit society. This methodology helps create sustainable business models, improve social programs and public policies, and maximize the social impact of investments and philanthropy. Dear friends, Today we want to share our priorities for 2024 with you. Our main focus is on advancing knowledge about social value and deepening understanding of its principles. We believe that "true value" extends far beyond simple economic indicators. To achieve this goal, we plan to organize educational opportunities for immersion in the topics of creating and managing social value, with educational programs receiving international accreditation from Social Value International. Our plan includes hosting an introductory lecture "Introduction to Social Value" next month in co-hosting format with Social Value International, and organizing training sessions to prepare participants for the first level of accreditation to obtain relevant professional qualifications in the field of management and creation of social value. To ensure a comprehensive approach to understanding the concept of social value, we have translated the seminal document "Guide to Social Return on Investment (SROI)" into Ukrainian, which is already available for review. We will provide more details soon about the educational activities we will be conducting, so stay tuned for updates!
