It uses reality mapping technology to capture site data with devices like smartphones or 360 cameras, enabling teams to visualize and measure the project remotely. At Autodesk University, we had the pleasure of meeting Engineer Harold Aram Mosqueda Orozco , a BIM Engineer at ICA. We discussed the BIM implementation in the Tren Maya project and the various challenges and implications that come with it. 🚆🌎 It’s clear that BIM can be successfully applied to infrastructure projects, and it’s inspiring to see Mexico and Latin America with successful examples leading the way. Hats off to ICA Ingenieros Civiles Asociados for the incredible work they’re doing! BIM in infrastructure has vast applications. While software like Revit is powerful, we sometimes assume it fits every need. In infrastructure, specialized tools like Infraworks, Civil 3D, ISTRAM® Software BIM, and OpenRoads play a crucial role—and for model federation, NavisWorks, ACC Coordinate, Solibri and more come into play.
