  • Exciting news from Solen Renewable! We’re thrilled to announce the delivery of the first phase of our 30MWac Solar PV and 9 MWh Energy Storage project in Gabon. Once fully commissioned, the project will reach an impressive capacity of 120 MWac and 30 MWh of energy storage. Spanning 105 hectares—about 150 football fields—this phase features 73,500 bifacial modules and over 2,500 single-axis trackers, with 10 KM of 90 KV Power evacuation transmission line all delivered in a remarkable 12 months since groundbreaking. The project is set to generate over 69 GWh of clean energy, offsetting nearly 30,000 tons of carbon emissions annually. Project Highlights: 1. Advanced Technology: Utilizing cutting-edge bifacial modules and single-axis trackers for maximum efficiency. 2. Significant Output: Generating 68 million units of electricity annually, enough to power over 50,000 households, while reducing CO2 emissions by nearly 30,000 tons each year. 3.   • Libreville, August 28, 2024 – Solen, a leader in renewable energies, is pleased to announce the inauguration of the largest solar power plant to date in Central Africa. This ambitious project was realized under the leadership of His Excellency Brice Clotaire OLIGUI NGUEMA, Brigadier General, President of the Transition, President of the Republic, and Head of State of Gabon. It also received support from the Presidential Task Force, the Ministry of Energy, and the Ministry of Economy and Equity Participation. This initiative marks a major turning point in the country’s energy strategy, aiming to diversify its energy sources and strengthen its commitment to sustainable development. The solar power plant, located between Ayémé Plaine and Ayémé Maritime in the Estuary province, represents a significant technological and environmental advancement for the region. This 30-megawatt plant, equipped with a solar tracker and a battery energy storage system, is a major advancement for Gabon's energy transition. The plant could power up to 300,000 households. The Ayémé photovoltaic solar plant is just the first step in an ambitious plan to achieve 120 megawatts in the long term, aiming to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. This project will contribute to the creation of several direct and indirect local jobs while promoting Gabon's energy independence. Simon EDOU-EYENE, Project Coordinator at Solen, stated: "This solar plant, realized under the direction of His Excellency the President of the Transition, is a crucial step for the future of Gabon's energy and for all of Central Africa."
