🤝 Meet #SolmateHorizonEurope partners SolarCleano is a Luxembourg-based robotics company aiming at providing #innovative robotic solutions to the #solarpanel cleaning industry. ℹ️ The company was born by combining its knowledge of mechanical design with solid solar panel cleaning experience. And their expertise and experience will be used in SOLMATE, where they will work closely with VITO and KU Leuven to develop an autonomous #PV module dismantling and sorting robot. This automatised process aims not only to streamline the characterisation, sorting and dismantling process, but also to reduce its costs and accelerate it.  🔗

🤝 Meet #SolmateHorizonEurope partners Highlighting our collaboration with CERTISOLIS, the only laboratory in France specialised in certification procedures for #photovoltaic product #energyperformance. Certisolis’s involvement in SOLMATE will be focused on developing low-cost #certification protocols for #PV modules for 2nd life applications. These protocols will establish the main inspection procedures to be respected and main performances to follow in order to certify a #PV panel and extend its lifetime with additional years, with application in various markets.  Learn more about the progress achieved 🔗

🤝 Meet #SolmateHorizonEurope partners ReVolta creates a #storagesystem from second-life #batteries and provides a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution that optimally manages storage assets and maximises their value.  With strong connection with Watt4Ever (W4E), ReVolta develops a suitable #Energy Management System (EMS) for the #batteries repurposed by W4E, which will be demonstrated in a school facility in Anderlecht (Brussels). Snapshots of our General Assembly meeting held in Mons and hosted by Groupe Comet . Presentations revealed progress across all work packages and here is a very brief summary that will fit within a post: ✅The first business model drafts with a focus on value proposition and technical feasibility were presented. ✅Testing of business models and product specifications has initiated, comparing them with other systems using 🆕 assets. ✅Full characterisation on more than 1/2 #photovoltaic modules received. ✅On-site aerial imagery and data acquisition for remote characterisation of PV modules are already equipped with photogrammetry and georeferencing. ✅The first simulations of the automated testing of PV panels are already showing leverage over manual labour, mainly due to the high control options available. ✅Presentation of the project #innovation management plan and initial results on the stakeholder analysis.   Our next newsletter, expected early in 2025, will compile various progress updates 🔗https://lnkd.in/eTDwa_6E.   This quick stop in Mons allowed us to visit also the COMET #recycling facilities. 🤝 Meet #SolmateHorizonEurope partners Comet Traitements S.A. is a Belgian innovative high-growth company processing and #recycling shredder residues, the by-product of the shredding of metallic wastes. Since its creation in 2002, they have developed and industrialised more than 8 post-shredder separation and recycling processes for the recovery of non-ferrous metals, minerals, iron oxides, synthetic fuel, plastics, etc. Established reputation as industrial player committed to building #sustainable supply chains of secondary #RawMaterials, within SOLMATE, Comet will take over the sorting of PV glass from non-reusable PV modules according to their impurities. 🤝 Meet #SolmateHorizonEurope partners Producer Responsibility Organisation in France, accredited by the French authorities, Soren ensures free collection and processing of end-of-life #photovoltaic panels of all technologies, developing high value #recycling systems. 🔎As a matter of fact, between 2015 and 2022, SOREN collected more than 22,000 tonnes of #photovoltaic panels ☀️ Within the SOLMATE project, SOREN will provide #PV modules for: - The specification tests for #reuse and refurbishment - The demonstrators that will be developed  - The analysis of the glass composition before the treatment process, leveraging also their knowledge about the technical requirements. 🤝 Meet #SolmateHorizonEurope partners SunCrafter GmbH creates small scale solar systems such as plug-in #PV systems, LEV charging stations and handheld charging stations from new and 2nd life #solarpanels and provides workshops and trainings on solar #PV topics. Within SOLMATE, SunCrafter will develop small-scale, semi-mobile, decentralised solar energy generation demonstrators based on 2nd life components, to expand the range of its portfolio of products for the Plug-in PV market.  Moreover, leveraging the knowledge gathered in CIRCUSOL project, topped in SOLMATE with their collaboration with Watt4Ever, SunCrafter aims to generate valuable insights for the benefit of low-income communities, demonstrating and providing affordable decentralised #energysolutions.   🔗 https://lnkd.in/exSp9HcP
