SOSi was awarded the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract by the U.S. Department of State, supporting the Coordinator of Afghan Relocation Efforts (CARE) in Doha, Qatar. Our team will provide comprehensive support services across over 2 million square feet of facilities, spanning approximately 518 acres. This vital mission aids in relocating U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, special immigrant visa applicants, and select Afghan refugees and their families eligible to relocate to the U.S. from Afghanistan. "This is a complex program aiding Afghan allies who risked their lives to help the U.S.," said Frank Helmick, SOSi Senior Vice President for Mission Operations. "Drawing on SOSi's extensive experience supporting large logistics, operations, maintenance, and stabilization activities in the Middle East and Southwest Asia, we will bring hands-on expertise and proven capabilities to the CARE mission." We had an incredible evening hosting some of our tech partners at the Capital Hockey Classic in Washington, D.C.! Our CTO, Kyle Fox, and several other members of the SOSi team welcomed leaders from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle, and Defense Unicorns to the SOSi suite at Capital One Arena for a night of networking and college hockey action. As we deepen our partnerships with these innovative companies, we're excited about transforming how government agencies leverage commercial technology. The energy in the room matched the intensity on the ice — a perfect backdrop for discussing our ambitious collaborative initiatives for 2025. Effectively managing multi-cloud costs has become a critical challenge for organizations looking to maintain their competitive edge while keeping expenses in check. SOSi CTO Kyle Fox recently shared his expertise with Network Computing, outlining a three-step approach to help organizations get costs under control: moving predictable workloads back on-premises when feasible; rearchitecting dynamic workloads with cost optimization in mind; and implementing continuous optimization through cross-functional teams. Fox emphasizes starting small: "It's best to start by operating within a single CSP and gradually add complexity over time," he said. This practical approach helps organizations build expertise while managing costs effectively. Learn more about cutting your multi-cloud costs by reading the full article here: https://bit.ly/3ZmJDB9
