At After-School All-Stars, we come along side families, schools and students to help these students achieve success in school and in life. There are many young people who don't have access to opportunities because of the neighborhoods they live in or economic status. We strive to provide access for all kids we serve to be able to learn and grow, whether it be arts, technology programs, workforce development, culinary, graduating high school, college admission and more. What we want for our All-Stars is the same any parent would want for their own kids, to be safe and healthy, graduate high school and continue their education, find a career the love and give back to their communities. It is #spirit 🌟week at our High School Summer Camp, and I, for one, could not have been more excited for all of the students and frankly, ME TOO! Spirit week was something that I looked forward and was happy 🥰 to see it in play for our high school students. Day one was the "Color War"🎨....Who would have thought that Spirit Week could be so much fun? We did! 

Arnold #Palmer was a talented #golfer ⛳️, prolific golf course designer, and one heck of a person. 😀 He showed the world the value of #consistency, #hard work, and #fun — all attributes that make for a better golf game and a better life. For some of our high-school students, ⛳️ golf has never been played or viewed. Through an outing at Top Golf, students learned some valuable lessons like: #cooperation, #humility, #hardwork is more important than #luck, #neversaynever, silence is golden, don't ruminate on #failures, and the BIG picture is truly important. 

It was an exciting 🎉 summer for over 178 middle school students who attended SFASAS #Verizon Camp. Verizon Innovative Learning, the company’s signature #education initiative focused on driving digital equity and inclusion through a suite of programs and resources, continued to partner with FIU- After-School All-Stars to bring a packed three week program where students were challenged to design life on Mars through the camps main imperative...."How will you design your future?" Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers is a free, project-based immersive STEM program open to middle school students in under-resourced communities to explore STEM subjects, learn problem-solving skills and gain exposure to career opportunities in technology fields. In 2023, 90% of students in the summer program said they enjoy learning new things that involve STEM and 83% said that they can use STEM to impact issues affecting the community, nation, and/or the world. This year, Verizon Innovative Learning #STEM Achievers expanded and now able to accommodate more students: from 11,900 last year to 13,500+ students this year - 178 being in South Florida. #Verizon #Summer #STEM

All-Stars LEVELED UP! ⬆️  We wrapped up our final day at All-Star Leadership University on Friday after a week filled with PURPOSE ⭐️ POWER ⚡️ & VOICE 🗯️ We can’t wait to share more on our impactful time with All-Stars from across the nation 💙🌟 Our All-Stars had safe travels home and excited to hear of their experiences! ✈️

This year's summer camp work-force ready students are really soaring ✈️as they travel to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in #Daytona Beach to explore 🔦 the world of aviation and aerospace.
