Don't mistake my kindness for weakness...
Have you ever found yourself saying that to a co-worker, your child, spouse, or employee? I get it—I've always been the type who wants people to have a great time when they're around me. I want them to laugh, feel appreciated, uplifted, and just enjoy being in my presence.
But here's the thing—it’s easy to avoid the hard conversations when you’re focused on making everyone happy. Like asking your kid, "Your grades are slipping, what’s going on?"
Or telling a team member, "You’re not showing up at your best, and my expectations aren't being met. How can we fix this together?"
Or even addressing something as simple as, "You've been late more than usual, we need to talk about that and come up with a plan."
Y’all, don’t lose sight of your vision for yourself, your family, or your business. Avoiding tough conversations won’t just stunt your own growth—it’s a disservice to the people who need to hear it, too.
Let’s commit to having those real conversations with the people in our lives, so we can help them become the best versions of themselves.
