We're excited to officially welcome Michael Poole as our new Marketing Assistant at Southstar | DCCM! Michael has been a valuable part of our team for the past 10 months in a contract role, and we are thrilled to have him join us full-time. In his new role, Michael will assist in creating proposals to secure project contracts with government agencies, helping drive our continued growth. He will also manage our social media presence and handle other tasks as needed. A recent transplant from Northern California to Southern California, Michael holds a BA in Cinematic Arts and Technology from California State University, Monterey Bay, and an AS in Communication Studies-Multimedia from Sierra College. With his expertise in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, we know he’ll continue to bring creativity and innovation to the team! Welcome aboard, Michael! We look forward to the great things ahead!

Exciting news! 🚧 Southstar | DCCM has been selected by the County of San Bernardino to provide Construction Project Management, Inspection, and Public Outreach services for the Glen Helen Parkway Bridge Over Cajon Wash Project. This federally funded project will replace the at-grade river crossing with a 676-foot-long, 93.5-foot-wide bridge and expand the road to four lanes. Covering a half-mile stretch, the improvements will enhance safety and connectivity, tying into the existing Phase 1 improvements. 🌉 Construction kicks off in early 2025 and is expected to be completed by 2027. The Southstar | DCCM team is celebrating multiple birthdays this November. Join us in wishing everyone a Happy Birthday!

The San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments hosted an Anniversary reception on 10/30/24 celebrating 30 Years of Leadership and Regional Unity. Southstar | DCCM’s Yvette Kirrin and Vanessa Barrientos had the honor of attending this evening of fun with leaders and partners from the SGVCOG and those who have supported their work.

Southstar | DCCM and the City of Menifee hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of the long-awaited I-215 Holland Road Overcrossing project. This $26M project was funded by Menifee’s Quality of Life Measure (Measure DD), local City funds and the Western Riverside Council of Governments. Construction of the project began in January of 2023 and the finishing touches will be completed by the end of October 2024. The project was built to improve East/West access across Menifee for residents who had to travel several miles North or South just to cross the I-215 if they needed to get to the other side of town. The improvements to Holland Road feature a new four-lane, 318-foot-long bridge over the I-215 and includes Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) retaining walls, bike lanes (in each direction), sidewalks (in each direction), cobblestone rock blanket slope, decorative barrier rail and bridge lighting. In addition to the residents and the Southstar | DCCM Team in attendance, the event featured attendees from local Police and Fire Departments, Caltrans District 8, Riverside Construction Company, the Mayor of Menifee, Menifee City Councilmembers, Western Riverside Council of Governments, the Paloma Valley High School N.J.R.O.T.C., and members of the Sun City CruiZers Car Club.

Coastland | DCCM and Southstar | DCCM exhibited at The League of California Cities 2024 Annual Conference and Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center. The Expo was a great opportunity for the California Divisions of DCCM to meet face-to-face with council members, city managers, and other influential decision makers from finance, parks and recreation, public works, planning, fire and police departments from across the state and network with organizations that provide services to those cities.
