  • We're thrilled to share some beautiful photos of our recently-opened, newest phase of Joinery, Charlotte’s first multifamily development built with cross-laminated timber! This innovative material not only allows us to offer stunning exposed wood ceilings but also aligns with our commitment to sustainability and beauty. Here’s what makes this phase of Joinery truly special: 🌿 Sustainability at its core: Rooftop solar, in-home composting, and those breathtaking wood ceilings, paired with extra-large windows and custom wood-and-brass fixtures, create homes that are as sustainable as they are beautiful. 🚲 Transportation included: Residents enjoy free access to electric cars, e-bikes, scooters, and a local all-electric rideshare service—all included in one monthly check, making it easier than ever to live move around carbon-free. 🏠 Elevated living: 360 new apartments come with expanded amenities like new gyms, roof decks, and ground-floor terraces. Plus, a growing retail presence adds even more to love about Joinery. At Space Craft, we’re proud to reimagine what sustainable, walkable, and beautiful living looks like. Come see Joinery for yourself! #SpaceCraft #SustainableLiving #CharlotteNC #CrossLaminatedTimber #InnovationInDesign

  • We’re excited to announce that we've secured financing and started construction for our latest project in the Mill District: Cordo! Cordo will feature 287 units, ranging from studios to four-bedroom apartments, and 2,945 sq ft of retail space. This development continues our commitment to walkable, sustainable, and beautiful housing. The name "Cordo" pays homage to nearby Cordelia Park, underlining our goal to contribute to the vibrancy of the neighborhood with a mix of housing, retail, and open spaces. The building will showcase mass timber and two distinct, elegant facades that create a unique sense of place. A huge thank you to our financing, design, and construction partners for their dedication and hard work. JLL, Swinerton, Timberlab, Shook Kelley, V3 Companies, atelier pl, and many more! We look forward to sharing more updates as construction progresses!

  • Say hello to Inkwell! We opened these boutique residences in the NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte a few months ago and have loved seeing the building come to life with our charming residents. These new photos show off Inkwell's spacious units, an abundance of natural light, and generous outdoor space for residents. The interest has been incredible and we're grateful to everyone who has already chosen to call Inkwell home. If you haven't had a chance to see Inkwell for yourself yet, now is the perfect time! #InkwellLiving #NewDevelopment #OutdoorLiving #NaturalLight #LeasedUp #HomeSweetHome

Happy belated International Annie Day, which is celebrated on March 3rd 😎 A perfect excuse to introduce you to our final Development Project Manager: Annie Hull. Before bossing it at Space Craft, Annie designed and built projects in New York, San Francisco, and Tulsa. Her work has spanned diverse scales and uses: from ground-up multifamily residential to K-12 education, including the first and only public Montessori school in Oklahoma. Annie earned a Masters of Architecture (including a real estate certificate) at UC Berkeley after receiving a B.A. in Architecture from Yale. What made her decide to join Space Craft? In her words: “I chose to join Space Craft because it is where the art and science of real estate sync; where aspirational vision for better cities meets tangible, built places for people. A day at Space Craft is a day spent with a talented, multidisciplinary team working toward our collective goal to create a more livable and sustainable built environment.”

Happy Friday all! It's been a while since we gave you a glimpse into our team, so we have a new face for you: say hello to Emma Kenney, CPA 😃 Emma is our incredible Asset Management & Retail Manager, which means she helps oversee our operating portfolio and works to find and manage our wonderful retail tenants. She joined Space Craft in 2022 with a background in financial analysis and auditing, and investment experience across a range of specialty finance sectors. Based in Charlotte, Emma's passionate about urban exploration. She thrives on planning her next adventure and discovering hidden gems in cities. She holds a BSc in Accounting from UNC Wilmington and is a CPA in North Carolina. Beyond work, she enjoys hiking with her corgi (cutely named Lunchbox), eating at her favorite local restaurants (have you tried Customshop?), and savoring a glass of wine (preferably white). Why did she join the Space Craft team? In her words: "I started my career in public accounting, auditing large banking clients. It was monotonous, I was a small fish, and it was hard to see how my role impacted the world. Meanwhile, Space Craft was shaping the neighborhood that I lived in. When I was given the opportunity to join the Space Craft team and directly impact my community, it was a no-brainer. What was even more exciting was the opportunity to work with a group of some of the smartest, most innovative people I'd ever met. Its fulfilling to sit in a room of co-workers with backgrounds in architecture, construction, consulting, and law, all with a common goal to build beautiful and sustainable neighborhoods. Space Craft is brave, innovative, and intentional. Those are values that resonated with me. Space Craft has soul (and style) in an industry that's become largely commoditized. Space Craft cares about its employees, it cares about its partners, and most importantly it cares about the planet."

  • We often get asked about where we're headed beyond Charlotte. Today, we can finally tell you about the next city we'll be crafting in! Our first development outside Charlotte is a mixed-use community in Durham, NC. Nestled in a prime location just adjacent to downtown, this 96-acre master plan will offer a dynamic mix of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, all while preserving over 60% of the site as natural habitat. This community will be designed meticulously to foster a sense of belonging and connectivity, and make residents' lives more sustainable by default. We're really excited about this big milestone in Space Craft's journey. Our ambitious goal is to offer a new kind of community living in Durham, building on the city's vibrant energy and rich cultural heritage. We look forward to sharing more as the project develops. https://lnkd.in/gbGn7YdM
