Hooray! This year Spark Northwest was selected as a finalist for the 2024 BECU People Helping People Awards. Last week was the awards ceremony, and what an honor it was to be among so many inspiring organizations. We learned that over 1000 nonprofits were nominated this year, so kudos to Spark Northwest for being one of the 18 finalists selected. Thank you BECU for the incredible support and recognition!

About us
Spark Northwest accelerates the shift to clean energy one community at a time. Since 2001, our on-the-ground projects and progressive advocacy have led the charge toward a clean energy future. Whether working with rural farmers to deliver energy efficiency workshops, designing a community solar program for a municipal utility, or helping a local neighborhood chart a clean energy plan, Spark Northwest activates communities to work collectively towards a cleaner, healthier environment for generations to come.

This one warms the heart during these chilly days! RMI recently highlighted the Energize! King County Program I’ve been privileged to work on with Spark Northwest and King County, WA! It’s inspiring to see the tangible impact this program is having—providing cleaner, more efficient energy solutions in communities like Skyway and White Center. The program’s success wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of so many partners and the thoughtful outreach we’ve done, including multilingual workshops and prioritizing households with the greatest need. Having admired RMI’s pioneering work in energy and climate for years, it’s an honor to see our efforts featured alongside other transformative projects nationwide. This collaboration has truly embodied the power of peer learning and community-driven solutions. With nearly 100 installations and more in progress, Energize! King County is helping families reduce costs, stay comfortable, and contribute to a more sustainable future. We've got more to come in the next year and I look forward to seeing how we continue to electrify our communities both near and far across the U.S.! https://lnkd.in/gufzB9cn #heatpumps #electrifyhomes #cleanenergy

Also, we sincerely thank Eriq Acosta for co-leading the Tribal energy panel with Chas Jones and congratulations to John Ulric Seng for your Emerging Clean Energy Leader Award! #proud #equity #cleanenergy

Reminder that this month the Department of Commerce will be seeking input from community members to design a new Clean Energy Ambassadors program. The first virtual session will be held today 11/7 at 1:30pm. Ambassadors would serve as local clean energy champions, connecting their communities with education and access to clean energy technologies. Virtual and in-person sessions are being held this month. Language interpretation and translation will be available. See dates and register here: https://ow.ly/oC4j50TVVO4
