Spartan Radar is excited to announce Phalanx, the commercial vehicle industry’s first 360-Degree Camera + Radar fusion product. Phalanx builds upon Spartan's best-in-class advanced blind spot monitoring software-defined radar system, Hoplo, and combines camera technology to provide the most comprehensive obstacle avoidance system on the market. Spartan has spent the last few years working with fleets and OEMs that have been requesting Spartan to integrate camera and radar technologies. Blake Gasca, CEO of Spartan Radar states, "While most appreciate the value of cameras, they also understand the limitations of the technology as soon as the operational environment is suboptimal. As soon as weather, dirt, or debris enters the environment it doesn't matter how good your operator or computer vision algorithms are, the driver and the system simply can't see. Our customers often work in environments where any vehicle downtime due to visibility issues results in significant lost revenue for our commercial vehicle customers. Phalanx helps solve this challenge." Rick D., Director of Product explains, "Radar is a technology that's been around for quite some time but is often misunderstood and requires a team of experts that can tailor software’s performance to specific use cases without over-engineering on the hardware to the point of being cost-prohibitive to fleets and end customers", Dawson said. " With Phalanx, Spartan took customers’ wish list of features and developed a cost-effective and high-performance solution. It's a platform that can be used with or without a central compute, enabling operators to get better visibility from camera-radar fusion at the perception level." Spartan has partnered with strategic vision (camera) companies throughout the world, including those with both on-road and off-road domain expertise to distribute and support the rollout of Phalanx. Spartan expects to launch Phalanx in Q4 2024. Please follow Spartan Radar and contact hello@spartanradar.com for more information.

The recent requirement for advanced collision avoidance systems on all vehicles is a huge step in the right direction. The rise of pedestrian deaths over the years is exactly what called Spartan to action in 2020. We are glad to see that the standards for collision avoidance systems are being raised, specifically the requirement to be able to see pedestrians at night. #theresaradarforthat Spartan started with a mission to offer scalable safety solutions across all vehicle types—automotive, commercial vehicles, and machines. We remain focused on delivering the most robust and reliable sensor on the market, and our work is already improving pedestrian safety within the material handling, delivery, construction, and mining spaces. We are looking forward to more growth in mobility safety! https://nbcnews.to/3UhgCUY
