As a part of global nonprofit Species360, their teams record data on over 340 taxa, helping to maintain one of the world's largest sources of information on species. 🌊 Exciting news from Species360 member Two Oceans Aquarium! The Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation's Turtle Conservation Centre team has successfully released four rehabilitated sea turtles back into the wild at the De Hoop Marine Protected Area in South Africa. 🐢💙 With the support of volunteers, interns, and community members, the team returned two endangered green turtles, a vulnerable loggerhead turtle, and a critically endangered hawksbill turtle to their ocean home. #ConservationInAction #SavingSpecies

With us since the beginning, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo (United States) celebrates 50 years as a member of nonprofit Species360! Zoo staff record data on 16,853 animals/groups representing nearly 1,700 species - helping to establish one of the world's largest sources of insight to species. Thank you Cleveland Zoo!

We are celebrating 35-year member Perth Zoo (Australia)! As a part of global nonprofit Species360, Perth teams record data on over 950 taxa, including Critically Endangered (CR) Western swamp turtles, Australia's most endangered reptiles.

Au Zoo de La Boissière du Doré et au Natur'Zoo de Mervent, nos services animaliers & vétérinaires renseignent au quotidien le logiciel ZIMS (Zoological Information Management System). 🖱️ Ce logiciel joue un rôle clé dans la gestion des données des parcs animaliers, en offrant une plateforme centralisée et efficace pour suivre et gérer les informations sur les animaux, leur santé, leur reproduction, et bien plus encore. 📊Using data from ZIMS, researchers at Cologne Zoo have highlighted how the data can help prioritize ex situ conservation strategies for species most in need. Their analysis revealed gaps in zoo populations, such as the underrepresentation of critically endangered Philippine crocodiles compared to the more common Nile crocodiles.
