Great read from one of the true visionaries in mobility. Enjoy!

Techpulse interview in Belgium; I had the opportunity to give some insights about our future safety projects which we showed as well at Eurobike this year. Safety is the highest reason why Stromer customers choose our brand and we want to make the riding even more safe. #heretochange Spoke Jarrett Wendt Reid Sigety https://lnkd.in/dZuVQzYP

  • As cities continue to grow and urban mobility becomes more complex, the rise in road accidents is a sobering reminder of the urgent need for enhanced safety measures. Recent studies have shown a further increase in urban road accidents involving vulnerable road users (VRUs). The rapid growth of urban populations, coupled with the increasing number of micromobility vehicles like e-bikes and scooters, is increasing the risk of accidents across our cities. Every accident is a stark reminder that our current road safety measures are not enough. The human and economic costs of these accidents are staggering, with lives lost, families impacted, and communities left grappling with the aftermath. We cannot afford to wait—action is needed now. While the statistics paint a grimmer picture, they also highlight the critical need for advanced safety solutions to protect VRUs. By synergizing innovative technologies with improved micromobility infrastructure, there is a promising path to safer roads. The increase in road accidents is a call to action for all stakeholders—governments, businesses, and citizens alike. It's time to prioritize safety, invest in solutions that work, and ensure that every traffic participant is better protected. Together, we can turn these alarming statistics around and pave the way for a safer urban mobility. Let’s act before another life is lost. #RoadSafety #UrbanMobility #VulnerableRoadUsers #SafetySolutions #SpokeSafety

The future of ride safety is not just about protecting the rider—it's about creating a seamless communication network between bikes, vehicles and traffic infrastructure to prevent crashes before they happen. Imagine a world where bikes and cars communicate directly with each other. With Spoke’s advanced VRU2X™ technology, this future is closer than ever. Spoke’s sensor-fusion and communications technology allows bikes to send real-time signals to nearby vehicles, alerting drivers to the presence of a cyclist even when out of sight. Drivers will receive timely warnings and alerts directly on their digital displays when a bike is approaching - significantly reducing the risk of a collision. This proactive safety measure ensures that even in blind spots or low-visibility conditions, bike riders are protected. At Spoke, we believe that collaboration between bike manufacturers, automotive companies, and urban planners is essential to bringing this vision to life. Together, we can lead the change in making our cities and roads safer for all users. Let’s work together to build a safer, smarter future for urban mobility. Discover how Spoke Safety is pioneering the next generation of vulnerable road user safety technology. #UrbanMobility #SmartCities #V2X #VRU2X
