SPOTLOG seminar in Latvia! 🚀 The Vidzemes plānošanas reģions / Vidzeme Planning Region invites municipal specialists and #transport industry representatives to attend the seminar, “Challenges and Solutions in Transport Decarbonization,” taking place on November 22 in Cēsis. Several experts will take part, providing valuable knowledge and insights into transport #decarbonization solutions. The seminar will be valuable for both municipal specialists and transport industry representatives, offering practical knowledge and tools to achieve decarbonization goals. Municipal specialists will gain insights into creating environmentally-friendly transport #infrastructure and utilizing available funding mechanisms at the local level to address climate challenges more effectively. Last three days worked on mobility topics in Barcelona. City Institute Lviv currently is involved in six initiatives where we promote sustainable mobility: REALLOCATE project #SCALE_UP REFOCUS Interreg Europe SPOTLOG U Can Project CIVINET Україна The REALLOCATE consortium meeting, held from November 22 to 24 in Barcelona, focused on discussing the first prototypes and existing solutions that promote the reallocation of space to sustainable mobility modes in cities. As a representative of Lviv (cascade city), I concentrated on understanding the challenges and solutions faced by other cities. I believe we will replicate several projects that pilot cities are implementing later in Lviv. In particular, we plan to develop a replication plan for a shared mobility service for people with disabilities, which Barcelona is currently piloting to address the growing demand for accessible transportation. The most important issue for Lviv right now is the accessibility of urban spaces for people with disabilities. During a workshop with peers from other cities, we generated many ideas that could be implemented within the Medical-Educational Quarter in Lviv and scaled up to benefit the community and, hopefully, the Lviv Agglomeration as well. We now have stronger cooperation with the city of Barcelona and other cities involved in the climate-neutral and smart city mission. So, the REALLOCATE project is delivering value to other initiatives, particularly U-CAN. I look forward to implementing all the ideas we brainstormed during the meeting and replicating the solutions that pilot cities are currently adopting. #Logistics. The Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform organised a webinar on 19 September 2024 on reducing the impact of urban logistics. With over 90 participants, the webinar explored several successful case studies arising from Interreg Europe projects. SPOTLOG was among the speakers of the day, represented by Bandeira Jorge, Universidade de Aveiro, the project lead partner; and Julien Bouvet, Ville de Lille. ✅ Bandeira highlighted how SPOTLOG is pioneering in the assessment of cities' readiness for sustainable deliveries. SPOTLOG has developed an indicator as an assessment tool to understand the readiness of cities to implement sustainable last mile deliveries. ✅ Bouvet told about Lille, France, as a good example of cooperation with delivery companies. The Municipality of Lille has demonstrated the benefits of collaborating with delivery companies by establishing a partnership with La Poste, the national mail delivery provider.
