CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION | THE RUTHERFORD RETREAT Situated just outside Columbus, this week’s tour featured architectural design and construction oversight by Springhouse Architects. We met on-site with the builder, The Bellepoint Company, along with the foundation contractor to discuss several key considerations. The topics we addressed included: -Drainage solutions for the luxury home -Sightlines from the main living area -The clients’ request for a ‘no step’ flush garage slab aligned with the finished floor -The steepness of the driveway -Balancing the amount of fill dirt with the need for retaining walls to meet the homeowner's requests -The crucial placement of the boathouse near the lake Addressing these factors is essential to ensure that the final design aligns with the client’s vision from the outset of our design process. With design and construction administration services provided by Springhouse Architects, we're learning so much about the processes involved in historic renovations! Working with some incredible artisans, we are so excited by the next phase of renovations at The Church on Ninth as the craftsmen at Nor'wood Custom Glass have begun the long process of restoring the original stained glass windows from the sanctuary. The historic windows have been meticulously removed one bay at a time by Nor'wood Custom Glass, securely packaged, and now transported back to their glass studio.
