Many children born in rural Ghana face significant #challenges at the start of their lives, with limited chances of completing primary school and achieving independence as adults. Since 1983, we have been working to change this situation. In six selected villages, we #operate preschools that provide vulnerable children with the skills they need to succeed in primary school and complete their education. At our schools, children enjoy two nutritious meals each day—breakfast and lunch—ensuring they arrive on time and have the energy to focus during lessons. Additionally, they have access to basic #healthcare. Our efforts create an environment in which children from disadvantaged backgrounds can grow into healthy, well-educated adults who can support themselves and their families. In 1981, we began our mission to give children in the Philippines a better start in life. We provide #education and study support from preschool through to the final year of high school, preparing students for #university. We also enable sponsors to offer continued support for children who wish to pursue further education at the university level. Currently, we operate three school #projects in the Philippines: one in the Crame district of Manila, another in the Taytay slum area 15 kilometers from the city center, and a project in Infanta in the countryside. In addition to educational support, we provide #financial assistance to children in government schools, distribute food packages to those in need, and organize relief efforts in response to natural disasters that affect the country. Haiti - In the poorest country in the Americas, we have been involved in preschool and primary school #activities since 1978. Today, Haiti is a very dangerous place to work. Our seven school projects serve over 3,500 children, providing them with education and nutritious school meals that help combat widespread malnutrition. Each school is equipped with first aid kits and clean water available to everyone in the #community. This access helps protect them from diseases associated with contaminated water. We are always prepared to respond when disasters strike, as we did during the earthquakes in 2010 and 2021. Every year, we #distribute livestock to children in the villages. These animals become valuable #assets that improve the families’ standard of living. Each child who receives an animal pledges to give away its first offspring to another needy family, ensuring that our assistance reaches even more people every year.
