New research from Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce finds that middle-skills providers must significantly increase their production of credentials that align with high-paying middle-skills jobs to address impending shortages in large local metro areas. Of note, significant STEM credential shortages aren't seen in most metro areas; however, the number of unfilled STEM jobs remains high. We believe this highlights the ongoing skills deficit which will only be solved through the expansion of apprenticeships and other work-based learning opportunities like our StartCyber program.
