Join #DesignOfExperiments expert Mark Anderson for the kickoff event of our 40th year helping clients make the most from their experiments. Mark will draw on his decades of experience in DOE to explain the most common reasons why DOEs fail - and how to avoid them. If you're skeptical about starting to use DOE, this talk is for you! • Stat-Ease Live Webinar, Wednesday Jan 8, 10AM CST: How Not to Succeed with Your DOE—A Stat-Ease 40th Anniversary Retrospective by Mark Anderson.
  • As 2024 comes to a close, we look back with celebration and gratitude on another year of helping thousands of customers achieve their #DesignOfExperiments goals. Here’s to new beginnings, continued collaboration, and another year filled with breakthrough improvements. Wishing you all a prosperous and enlightening New Year!

    • Stat-Ease: statistics made easy. Happy new year! We look forward to another year of helping you achieve success with your experiments!
  • This week can often be slow in the office, so we suggest taking some time to learn about #DesignOfExperiments. Our "DOE Crash Course for Experimenters" is one of our most-viewed webinars, and for good reason! This hour-long instructional introductory video by Richard Williams, MSM, BSChE, CSSBB goes over the basics of factorial design and demonstrates how to easily set one up in Stat-Ease software. It's linked in the comments, so check it out!

  • Whether you celebrate a national event, the dark of the Solstice, the lights of Hanukkah, the joy of Christmas, or just the turning of the new year: happy holidays to all our followers around the globe! Stat-Ease will be closed on December 24 and 25; we'll also be closed on January 1. Our staff is taking time to celebrate their own holidays with their families, so we will be lightly staffed for a few weeks. Thank you for your patience as we work to answer your inquiries during this holiday time.

    • Happy holidays! from the Stat-Ease team.

    • Stat-Ease Live Webinar, Wednesday Jan 8, 10AM CST: How Not to Succeed with Your DOE—A Stat-Ease 40th Anniversary Retrospective by Mark Anderson.
  • Before everyone heads off for their annual holiday, let's focus on one last feature of Stat-Ease #DesignOfExperiments software: the default option for combined mixture-process designs, KCV models. The statistics may be complicated, but the savings are obvious: as Pat taught in his 2020 webinar (link in comments), these models strike a balance to lower the number of runs needed while still giving you insight into how your mixture & process affect each other. Visit our YouTube channel to learn something neat in the final hours before your break!

    • Stat-Ease: Statistics Made Easy. Make the most from every experiment! Feature Focus: KCV Models in Stat-Ease 360 and Design-Expert software.
    • Formulations aren't made in a vacuum: there's often a process that goes with them. For example, your cake must be baked! [The word "mixture" with an arrow pointing to a person mixing a bowl of cake batter. The word "process" with an arrow pointing towards a cake baking in an oven.]
    • That makes combined mixture-process designs a vital option for formulators.
    • [Table showing the number of runs for Crossed Q by Q and Q by Q max cubic designs with different numbers of mixture components and process factors. Circled are the ones in the bottom-right: At 4x4, QxQ needs 150 runs; QxQ cubi needs 90. At 5x4, QxQ = 225; QxQ cubic = 125. At 6x4, QxQ = 315; QxQ cubic = 165. A cartoon person looks at these numbers with their eyes popping out of their head in shock.] However, as the number of mixture components and process factors increases, the runs required for traditionally crossed mixture-process models become excessive (and expensive!).
    • That's why Stat-Ease software offers streamlined "KCV" models as an alternative for its optimal (custom) combined designs. [Arrows pointing to labelled headshots of Scott Kowalski, John Cornell, and Geoff Vining, with a note "these guys invented this model!]
