Yesterday I was talking with a volleyball coach. He's going to make a card for all of his players. Very cool. But I have a question. I made him a sample card. It came out randomly with laser eyes. I sent it off. But that got me thinking... Should I send parents non-laser eye card samples? What do you think? Before and after included...

The vibes were off. I had absolutely been grinding on learning webflow and implementing it for the new Stat Legend website. Our software launch was late and it was my fault. I took some shortcuts. Yep, the vibes were off. So yesterday, I sat down and I just made a bunch of cards. This is my son Ben. I started making anime cards because each one comes out different and they each make me smile. Making all of these took me about 10 minutes. My favorite is in the middle, next to the original photo. But again, the vibes were off. My favorite card came out with three hands. So I sent off a different version for the final website. A few hours later, i was talking to my co-founder. We agreed the middle anime card was the best, no matter if there were three hands. Isn't that the point anime anyways, to find a rad cartoon version of ourselves? So I changed it up and went with the the one I like. And now the vibes ARE NOT OFF. Be yourself. Do your thing. Even if that means you have three hands. Fix the vibes. The vibes are everything.

The difference between my last startup sales cycle and selling Stat Legend cards is completely different. One of the main differences is word of mouth marketing. This happened over the weekend. A kid got his team pack of Stat Legend cards. Another kid found out about the pack. The next day, his mom ordered cards. At least, I think that is what happened. The other big difference is making something magical. Magic is the key to word of mouth. Your own, personalized youth sports cards --- that's magical.

This is just the perfect quote. We had to squeeze the entire thing on a card. “Somewhere behind the athlete you’ve become and the hours of practice and the coaches who have pushed you is a little girl who fell in love with the game and never looked back… play for her.” —Mia Hamm Thanks for this, Mia. #bealegend
