We are very pleased to announce the promotion of Steven Walters to the position of Senior Manager Merchandising in the Merchandising Department. He will be leading and overseeing the Merchandising Department including field Merchandising Clerks and will be responsible for developing the planogram strategy to improve space productivity. Steven has been a member of the Stater Bros. team for 20 years and will report to Mike Crawford, Senior Director Category Insights Merchandising Execution and Procurement. He began his career with us in 2004 as a Clerk at #170 Eagle Glen in Corona. Steven steadily progressed within the stores where he held the positions of Key Carrier, Service Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Store Manager. In 2021, he was promoted to Category Manager in the Sales & Merchandising Department. Steven successfully led the Retail Price Competitor Collection project and was instrumental in the project’s overall success. Steven holds a Master of Arts in American Studies as well as a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and Communications, both from California State University, Fullerton. He has also completed the WAFC Retail Management Certificate Program and has served on the Brown Vest Council.
