A new year usually brings inflation-based adjustments to various limits and thresholds for employer-sponsored retirement plans. So it goes for 2025, which will largely see increases to key amounts. For example, the contribution limit for 401(k), 403(b) and 457 plans will rise to $23,500 (up from $22,500). The annual limit on catch-up contributions for participants age 50 or over will remain at $7,500 for these plans. However, under SECURE 2.0, a higher catch-up contribution limit of $11,250 will apply to participants who are 60, 61, 62 or 63 in 2025.
