✨ Introducing STELLA's Use Cases! 🌍 Spotlight on Plane Trees' UC | 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬, 𝐄𝐯𝐢𝐚, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐞 Evia Island, Greece's second-largest and third-largest in the eastern Mediterranean, faced an ecological disaster in 2022. The Ceratocystis platani fungus ravaged century-old plane trees along riverbanks, endangering biodiversity and disrupting ecosystems. 🌳 Plane Trees' UC, led by the Agricultural University of Athens AUA OFC, leverages cutting-edge technologies - satellites, drones, IoT devices, and citizen science - to develop innovative methods for monitoring and safeguarding these vital forested areas.
