So glad Heidi Lim and I got to participate in STEMSTL's Dia del Niño event in the Cortex Innovation District. We taught about light and prisms and helped folks young and old make suncatchers. We also shared information about our amazing office and lab spaces. I've always had a passion for teaching and encouraging kids to be interested in science and nature. It was very heartening for girls to tell me their dreams about becoming veterinarians and biologists and talking to them about colleges. Also, practicing my admittedly poor Spanish to communicate with the niños. We can show people that science is accessible and inclusive.

🔬 From elementary to high school, Project Lead The Way empowers teachers and students alike to explore engineering, biomedical sciences, and more, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications. The Saint Louis Science Center has selected three incredible poster projects from the STEMSTL PLTW Senior Capstone Showcase as winners of the Science Communicator Award for our summer display, showcasing the ingenuity and creativity of young minds: ‣ 𝗛𝗛𝗢 𝗜.𝗖.𝗘 - Revolutionizing fuel systems with hydrogen gas technology. ‣ 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗖𝗛! - Exploring the impact of white noise on physiological responses. ‣ 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 - Innovating road safety with angled lane-line dividers. 🌟 Stay tuned as we highlight these inspiring projects and continue to celebrate the power of STEM education! 📸 Image Credit: Tyler Small Photography #STEMeducation #STEMstl #ProjectLeadTheWay #STEM

Last week I had the honor of participating in the Project Lead the Way / STEM STL High School Science poster fair at St Louis University's event center. What a great experience to see and feel the inspiring stories from the students who put in long hours to reach this show. Projects ranged from mechanical and biomedical engineering and an array of science topics from schools all over the St Louis area. Congrats to all who joined the event!
