Elizabeth Chatham appeared on Arizona PBS in an Arizona Horizon news segment, "Shifts in immigrant arrest policies." In January, Trump administration officials rescinded a long-standing policy that discouraged immigration enforcement in sensitive locations, like schools, hospitals and churches. Liz advises that staff at formerly protected locations should be trained on what to do if immigration enforcement officials visit the site. She recommends designating a point of contact, such as a principal or an administrator, and putting a communication plan in place. In Arizona, students are entitled to a K-12 education, regardless of immigration status. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/g_e8z_Wf #StinsonInAZ #StinsonInPHX #ImmigrationLaw

Madeline Gustafson authored an article for Bench & Bar examining the real-world implications of the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act. While many businesses already have privacy policies and procedures in place, the MCDPA and state laws like it will create new compliance considerations for collecting consumer data. Madeline outlines the steps attorneys should take when counseling clients on the MCDPA and other state privacy laws like it, including a thorough risk assessment that takes into account how businesses are already collecting and using consumer data. Minnesota is one of 20 states that have passed laws governing consumer data tracking, and more laws are likely to be enacted in 2025.
